Trump: “I love the poorly educated!”

Trump wins Nevada with overwhelming support of a highly coveted demographic in the Republican party and Trump absolutely “loves” them. Trump enjoys a staggering 71% favorability among Republicans who have not earned college degrees (according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll), or as Trump affectionately describes them – “the poorly educated”.

Now, I don’t know many people who would refer to themselves as one of the “poorly educated” just because they did not pursue a college degree. There are multitudes of people, Republican and Democrat, that do not have college degrees and that does not necessarily make them poorly educated. Someone who is poorly educated would find it difficult to add two single digits together without using their fingers. A poorly educated person would be unable to read beyond a third grade level. Another example of someone who is poorly educated would be someone who excoriates the press for accurately reporting that Trump said “I love the poorly educated”, to wit: a Trump supporter critiquing a news article titled “Donald Trump: ‘I love the poorly educated‘:

Biased Headline by the PC media again. Donald Trump loves everybody. Donald Trump for President!! Ric

Based on my unscientific observations, there are a lot of poorly educated conservatives because almost every news article that correctly quotes a Republican saying something stupid is quickly condemned as lies and bias. That’s especially true if the quote is accompanied by video providing auditory and visual proof.

Anyway, this astonishing support for Trump by the poorly educated must be deeply troubling for the Republican party. I suppose they can take solace in the fact that the level of educational attainment is often an indicator for who actually votes. While the most politically rabid of the poorly educated conservatives will force Trump upon the electorate through the GOP primary process, there won’t be enough of them to put Trump in the White House. For that, we can all be thankful.
